Tobacco Info For Parent's
March 1, 2019
Statistics show that teenagers communicate with a parent or legal guardian less than 30 minutes per day. In that average amount of time, studies show that it is to the backside of the parent or guardian (meaning in a car). I hope that we are finding more time to have these important conversations with our students. Please take this opportunity to read these articles and learn more about how your child is being affected by tobacco and drugs.
Help Your Student Resist Drugs
Here is a great article that helps adults understand the teen mind. (I know, we all thought it was impossible.) This article shares ways to teach your child the way "out" of drugs.

Health
This course is designed to offer students the opportunity to acquire knowledge, incorporate process, and life skills, and develop positive attitudes about life. Development of a healthy body and a healthy mind will assist young people in living active, productive, and successful lives.
As a Health Educator, I hope to be able to help each student become more aware of their overall health and well-being. I will give students the tools and confidence they need to live a healthy and active lifestyle. They will understand the importance of establishing patterned behavior that will assist them in achieving complete health. Complete health is accomplished by having a balance of physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Throughout this course students will also  have different leadership opportunities that meet Ogden Preparatory Academy’s mission of building character.
